Lantana Education/Charitable Foundation (LECF) is a 501(c)(3) private foundation founded in May 2000. The foundation operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes.
The foundation was originally managed by Lantana's developers, Republic Property Group and Forestar Group Inc., and is now managed by the local non-profit organization Lantana Cares.
Grants from the foundation must be used to provide activities or infrastructure to support quality of life, including cultural, educational, charitable, recreational, environmental, and conservation activities and infrastructure, that directly and exclusively benefit Lantana, Texas or schools with an assigned attendance zone in Lantana, Texas.

Funding for the foundation comes from a one-half of one percent (0.5%) fee from all real estate sold or transferred within Lantana.
The fee has allowed LECF to invest millions of dollars toward making our community a great place for everyone who lives here. The proceeds from the fee have benefited our children by helping build schools in Lantana (E.P. Rayzor, Blanton, Adkins, and Harpool), creating critical educational programs, and assisting our teachers. We have invested in recreation, conservation, outdoor infrastructure, and beautifying our community, among many other things. These investments have improved our quality of life, helped lift property values, and made Lantana a community we can all be proud of. It will also provide the resources to build for the future of this wonderful community, including future investments in education.
